About Betsy Knapp
As the founder, owner and beacon of creativity & style behind
Tigerlily’s, Betsy Knapp’s designing genius is the
gift that she gives to the varied taste clients who visit her
high-end design studio upholstery and fabric store. The self-taught
home decorator/designer/doyenne opened her store in 1992 with
her husband Bob Knapp. It is the fulfillment to a dream inspired
by her own life with her house, a clapboard colonial in Greenwich,
CT, as her muse.
“The home is the centerpiece of one’s world,”
says Betsy Knapp, owner of Tigerlily’s. I believe that if
a home is well-appointed, no matter the budget, you will always
have a solid, self-created shelter from life’s chaos. My
home is my anchor and it is where all my family memories began.
It is like the third partner in our business and I would not be
here today without the lessons it has taught me.”
While raising her four daughters as a single mother, she overcame
personal obstacles and was determined to always keep her home
a safe haven for her family. Through scouring flea markets, thrift
stores, books and museums, she honed her taste and style which
became the model for developing her high-quality upholstery and
fabric store.
Today, Betsy runs Tigerlily’s with her husband of more than
twenty years Bob Knapp and her daughter Samantha who's pillow
line sells exclusively in adjoining, La Maisonette. Tigerlily’s
is dedicated to high quality craftsmanship and service for its
clients. With countless fabrics companies (Fortuny, Clarence House,
Designer’s Guild, etc) and a custom furniture frame collection,
available in the design studio to choose from, each client has
the opportunity to create a piece that is truly unique –
with the help of Betsy Knapp’s watchful eye, of course.
Betsy’s home at 2 Brook Drive in Greenwich was always her
refuge and she opened Tiger Lily’s with the sole purpose
of making her client’s homes meaningful spaces to create
wonderful memories.
